The token premium
AI models read, bill and limit text in tokens. For the same meaning, African languages need more tokens than English. That premium is paid on every query, in cost, in how much text a model can read at once, and in speed.
The tokenizer
The Nzinga tokenizer extends Gemma 3's tokenizer with 32,000 word pieces of its own, built from open African text. It needs fewer tokens than all 12 other tokenizers tested on all 12 Tier 1 languages, and leaves English and French unchanged. About the tokenizer
The Nzinga Network
An invite-only network of people who record voice notes in their own languages. Members choose who can use every recording. They are paid when recordings they share are accepted, with a share of licence income when partners license them. About the network
Your language, your voice, your terms.
The app
The phone app is where members join, choose, record and get paid. Its library is the data engine of the stack: it trains the speech and language models built on the Nzinga tokenizer. About the app
